Springfield Mo.

Another long hot day through Missouri. Today we traveled 91 miles from the lake of the ozarks to Springfield, where we will be building tomorrow.
Today’s ride was one of the more difficult rides of our trip thus far. One thing that made today a challange was the topography. We rode a lot of hills today. None of them alone were really that bad, and we had certainly ridden through worse in Pa, but the difficulty of the hills was only compounded by today’s heat. It was really really hot today.
That said everyone did suprizingly well with the ride today. I made it in by about 2;30 and I think everyone had made it in by 4;30, which is really just sort of an average day.
After we made it in tonight and had dinner, a group of abut 20 of us all went to go see the movie inception. It was a good movie, and really well done, but after 90+ miles inhe heat today I just wasn’t really good at keeping up with what was happening. Lots of the other riders said they really enjoyed it. I was really just happy that I made it through without falling asleep inthe very well airconditioned movie theater.
Tomorrow is another build day, our second in Missouri. We won’t start until 8:30 tomorrow, which is really exciting for all of us because we don’t have to get up until 7:30. After getting up at 5 or earlier for the past few days to try and beat the heat we are all looking forward to getting a few extra hours of shut-eye tonight.

You’ll need to give Inception another chance when you are in the right frame of mind…It could well be that this trip is really just a dream; if so, it’s time to wake up and get to work; we have a deadline at the CCDC!

  2. I echo MTM’s sentiments about Inception. Go see it again.
Hope you’re treated to some cool weather soon. Or you find a pool.
